Build freely.
Represent it honestly.

These terms cover the official Z# website and downloads. The Apache License 2.0 continues to govern the Z# source code.

01

Using Z#

By using the official website or downloading an official Z# release, you agree to follow these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or downloads. These terms do not replace any open-source license included with Z# or its dependencies.

02

Open-source license

Z# is distributed under the Apache License 2.0. Subject to that license, people may use, reproduce, modify, and redistribute the source code. Redistributions and modified versions must preserve required copyright, license, attribution, and change notices.

Modification is allowed. The important rule is not to present a modified or third-party build as an official ZombieOS release.
03

Unofficial and modified versions

A modified build must be clearly identified as modified and unofficial. You may not claim that ZombieOS created, reviewed, secured, endorsed, or published a build when it did not. You may not copy the official download presentation, release information, signatures, checksums, or update service in a way that deceives users about a file's origin.

04

Z# and ZombieOS branding

The Apache License 2.0 does not grant trademark rights. You may accurately state that a project uses or is based on Z#, but the Z#, ZSharp, ZombieOS, and official project names and logos may not be used to imply sponsorship, endorsement, or official status. Reasonable references that identify the software's origin are allowed.

05

Acceptable use

Do not use the official website, downloads, update service, registry, names, or branding to distribute malware, impersonate ZombieOS, mislead users, bypass security controls, interfere with service operation, or violate applicable law. Do not attempt to replace official release files or publish altered checksums or signatures as authentic.

06

Third-party apps, games, and packages

Z# can run projects created by independent developers. Unless ZombieOS explicitly says otherwise, those projects are not reviewed, endorsed, or controlled by ZombieOS. Their developers are responsible for their code, content, licensing, security, support, and privacy practices. Users should verify a project's source and publisher before running it.

07

Beta software and warranty

Z# may include beta or experimental functionality. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website and software are provided without warranties or guarantees. The warranty and liability terms in the Apache License 2.0 govern the licensed Z# source and distributions.

08

Changes to these terms

ZombieOS may update these terms as Z# and its services change. Material updates will appear on this page with a revised effective date. Changes do not retroactively replace the license that applies to source code already distributed.
